Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fitzyc (“Fitzyc”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use fitzyc.com, our health guides, food database, calculators, and the Fitzyc app (together, the “Services”).

Fitzyc is wellness and education software. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Our Medical Disclaimer and Terms of Use apply as well.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • visitors who read guides, search the food database, or use calculators on the website;
  • people who email us or use a contact form;
  • people who create a Fitzyc account and use the app to track nutrition, habits, activity, sleep, weight, or similar wellness data.

It does not apply to third-party websites or apps we link to. Those services have their own policies.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details — when you register, we collect information such as your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form, not as plain text).
  • Profile and goals — optional details you enter to personalize the app, for example age range, sex, height, weight, activity level, and nutrition or fitness goals.
  • Wellness logs — food and calorie entries, water, steps or workouts, sleep, habits, weight check-ins, notes, and similar records you choose to save.
  • Messages — if you contact hello@fitzyc.com or submit a support or partnership enquiry, we keep the content you send so we can reply.

On this public website, calorie, BMI, protein, and similar calculators run in your browser. We do not save those inputs on our servers unless you later store similar information in a Fitzyc account.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data — hosting and security systems may record IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This is standard server logging used to operate and protect the site.
  • App diagnostics — the app may collect crash reports, device type, operating system version, and performance data so we can fix bugs.

Third-party resources on the website

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts and front-end libraries from a public CDN (currently jsDelivr). Those providers may process your IP address and request data under their own policies when your browser fetches those files. We do not currently run a first-party advertising pixel or a marketing analytics tag on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the website, calculators, food data, and app;
  • create and secure your account, and show you your own logs and progress;
  • respond to support, press, and partnership messages;
  • keep the Services safe (abuse prevention, debugging, security);
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use;
  • send service emails (for example password reset or important account notices). Marketing email is sent only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your wellness logs to train public AI models or to advertise other companies’ products to you.

4. Health and wellness data

Food logs, weight, activity, and similar entries can be sensitive. We treat them as personal information used only to provide the Services you asked for. Fitzyc is not a healthcare provider and is not a “covered entity” under HIPAA. Do not use the app as a substitute for clinical records, and do not send us emergency medical information — contact local emergency services instead.

5. When we share information

We share information only when needed:

  • Service providers — hosting, email delivery, cloud storage, authentication, and crash reporting vendors who process data on our instructions and must protect it.
  • Legal reasons — if we must disclose information to comply with law, a court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fitzyc or others.
  • Business transfers — if Fitzyc is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer under this policy or a successor policy we will describe to you.
  • With your direction — for example if you use a share or export feature we offer.

6. Cookies and similar storage

The public website may use cookies or local storage that are strictly necessary to remember basic preferences (for example a session after you log in). The food search and calculators may keep short-lived data in your browser so the page works. We do not use advertising cookies on this site today.

You can block cookies in your browser. Some logged-in features may then stop working.

7. How long we keep information

Account and wellness data are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or irreversibly anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, unless we must keep a limited record for security, accounting, or legal obligations. Server logs are typically rotated on a shorter cycle set by our hosting provider. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request and our records.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) where the Services are served that way, hashed passwords, and access limits for our team. No online service is completely secure. Please choose a strong unique password and keep your devices updated.

9. Children

The Services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email hello@fitzyc.com and we will delete it. The Fitzyc app is intended for users who are at least 16, or who have a parent or guardian’s permission where required by law.

10. International use

We may process and store information on servers in the country where we operate and in other countries where our providers run infrastructure. If you use Fitzyc from another country, your information may be transferred to those locations. We take steps appropriate to the transfer, including contractual protections with processors where required.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, to withdraw consent, or to object to certain processing. You can:

  • edit profile and logs inside the app;
  • request account deletion from in-app settings or by emailing us;
  • ask us to correct or export data by writing to hello@fitzyc.com.

We will need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. If a local law gives you additional rights (including under Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act, or similar laws elsewhere), we will honor those rights to the extent they apply to Fitzyc.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Services or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page, and we may also notify you by email or in the app when required.
